Velocity stacks / Trumpets / Ram tubes

This company offer a range of velocity stacks for multiple applications. If something is needed that isn't shown here then please make an inquiry to getting it made to suit your needs. Examples other than the 4age 20v throttles are the multiple throttles off an Nissan RB26, SR20 from GTiR, BMW motorsport engines, various carb options such as Weber + Dell'orto + Mikuni and so on.

What makes SQ Engineering Velocity stacks the best available?
Transition: Matching of inside diameters between the inside of the runners and the opening of the throttle.

A clean transition is important as any steps in this part of the intake will cause turbulence and unwanted intake flow reversion. All of which cause less cylinder filling and hence less power.

All too many companies are offering mismatched stacks. One well known parts supplier even had the audacity to offer a product that was advertised as suiting both types of 4age 20v engines. It did so just by slotting the mounting holes even though the throttles have a 2mm difference in internal diameter. Just because it bolts on doesn't make it compatible!

All velocity stacks through this company are guaranteed to have a very close fitment unless specifically mentioned otherwise.

Flange fitment: The tolerance of the mounting flanges.

Related to the internal transition is the fitment of the mounting points of a velocity stacks flange. The mounting points don't vary in proportion to the intake opening so there is no need for adjustment. So it begs the question why would a company need slotted tabs or oversize holes on their flanges unless they have quality control issues?

On the 4age stacks offered here the flanges have exactly 8mm sized mounting holes, so they will just bolt on and fit dead central every time.

Parabolic opening: The shape of the rolled edge

SQ Engineering Velocity stacks feature the intake lip in the shape of a parabola*
. This is proven to have the single highest mass airflow of any given pipe opening. Going to a conventional bellmouth or even worse a flared end will cause a drop in the total mass air flow and velocity.

*The 20mm long 'shorties' have only a rolled edge

Tapered tubes: The expansion in diameter down the length.

A tapered velocity stack will have a higher air speed and make more power over a straight pipe every time. However these are harder to form so therefore many companies skip this step to save money.

All but the 20mm 'shorties' offered on this site have a tapper for maximum air speed.
Strong: Solid construction

All stacks featured have 5mm thick flange plates and good wall thickness tubes. Don't accept cheap flimsy stacks.
Finish: professional  looks

All flanges are well shaped to the outside of the throttles as well as being cleaned up and pipes semi-polished.
